Starion Sports Complex - 6 month update



  • Hosted six Mandan Hockey Club and two adult league tournaments with over 100 teams and approximately 1,700 players.
  • Public skating was available in the Cadillac and Buick/GMC Rink. There were 50 public skating times with approximately 5,000 patrons in attendance compared to 2,800 at All Seasons Arena.
  • The ability to have summer ice gives us the opportunity to have summer camps hosted by the Olympic winning Lamoureux sisters scheduled on June 11-14.
  • In 2017-18 season Starion Sports Complex rented 1,600 hours of ice compared to 1,100 in 2016-17 at the All Seasons Arena.
  • Mandan Hockey Club teams were off the ice by 9:15pm compared to 10:30pm in previous years.
  • Mandan Hockey Club registration increased 3% in the previous three seasons, the first year Starion Sports Complex was open they saw a 15% increase.
  • Dakota Star Gymnastics enrollment has increased to around 300 participants (12% increase) with 480 on their watiing list. 
  • Dakota Star Gymnastics is currently training their staff to continue adding more classes and are amazed in the interest in the program. 
  • Dakota Star Gymnastics plans to host WDA in 2020.
  • In 2018 there will be two middle school track meets, two high school track meets and one Class B High School Meet with a total of eight teams.
